The report seeks to provide a detailed and critical view of current food systems, labeled as "failed", and discuss the implications of these systems in both environmental and public health terms. Its main objective is to identify the challenges and opportunities to reform these systems towards more sustainable and equitable practices. Through the analysis, it aims to foster an informed debate on how structural changes, policies and technological innovations can improve food production and distribution, while ensuring adequate nutrition and global food security. Additionally, the report seeks to influence policy decisions and promote actions that integrate sustainability and equity into food systems around the world.
