The performance of exporting companies according to their size

This report offers a set of indicators that facilitate the analysis of the performance of exporting companies according to their size in the countries of the region. The official definition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 19 countries is examined, together with a common criterion that makes it possible to compare small and medium-sized exporters (pymex) between nations. The 35 indicators presented are divided into four main groups. The first deals with the demographics of exporting firms, the second with their export dynamism, the third with their competitiveness, and the fourth with their performance according to various types of firms. Estimates of these 35 indicators are provided for several countries, based on customs data.
