Description

The 2023 edition of the Regional Panorama of Food Security and Nutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean notes that, although there was progress in reducing hunger and food insecurity between 2021 and 2022, important challenges remain. South America saw a slight decrease in hunger, while in the Caribbean it increased, mainly due to the situation in Haiti. Women and rural residents are the most affected by food insecurity. In addition, the region continues to fight malnutrition in all its forms, such as childhood stunting and obesity.
