Description

The report is a compendium of articles in three sections of analysis: a) Status and prospects of bioeconomy developments; b) Instruments for mobilizing the bioeconomy; and c) Special chapter on bioentrepreneurship. With the growing need to mitigate the global impact of climate change, it is more important than ever to establish globally harmonized strategies to ensure the health and well-being of all and to adapt to a changing world. This paper demonstrates the commitment of the LAC community to undertake urgent changes in business, education, policy and environmental priorities, as well as with civil society to accelerate the development of sustainable bioeconomies. It reviews recent advances in the regional bioeconomy, identifies key challenges, and presents a discussion of the central elements in the pending agenda. It is expected to serve as an input for awareness raising, positioning and decision making of all public and private actors involved in bioeconomy strategies, policies and projects in the region.
