Description

The Central American Agricultural Council (CAC) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) signed a Cooperation Agreement that seeks to strengthen collaboration in agriculture and trade between Central America and the Caribbean. This agreement seeks to promote agricultural and rural development, adaptation to climate change, and strengthening family farming in both regions. It will focus on sustainable agriculture, food security, agricultural productivity, digitalization and regional agricultural trade. The agreement aims to facilitate the reduction of tariffs, improve infrastructure and logistics, and strengthen value chains and food security.
