Description

After the launch of the National Bioeconomy Strategy 2020-2030, the Government of Costa Rica considered having a digital platform that functions as a center of specialized knowledge, as well as a platform for the promotion of business and investment opportunities in Bioeconomy at the service of the academic, productive, government, NGOs and civil society sectors. The Bioeconomy Observatory's objectives are: To serve as a documentary and multimedia collection center to consult relevant resources and information about Bioeconomy at a national, regional and international level. focus country indicators and will offer spaces for interaction and collaborative work of different sectors, all around the theme of the Bioeconomy. The Bioeconomy Observatory is aligned with principles and criteria defined by the International Sustainable Bioeconomy Working Group (ISBWG) led by FAO. With this, Costa Rica guarantees the standardization of its data collection and information generation processes, and the consequent international cooperation for the adoption of the Bioeconomy as a development model.
