Description
Technological change joins climate change and new food demands as one of the main transforming forces in rural areas of Latin America and the Caribbean. Technological innovations and new business models offer opportunities to bring services to remote areas, overcoming challenges such as high costs and low population density. This paper examines cases related to social services, such as health and education, and financial services, highlighting the importance of infrastructure, markets and institutions to take advantage of these opportunities.
