The entry into force of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement in 2022 between 15 Asia-Pacific countries coincides with a trend towards greater regionalization of trade and production, in response to trade tensions, the COVID-19 pandemic. 19 and geopolitical conflicts. In contrast, Latin America and the Caribbean has been experiencing a process of commercial and productive disintegration since the mid-2010s. This document seeks to address how to move towards greater economic integration in the region to stimulate growth, strengthen productive chains and reduce external dependence in strategic sectors.
