Opportunities for the adoption of the value chain approach in the field of wáter resources

The value chain approach covers all stages of the production process, including recycling, to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. It is especially relevant in water management, promoting sustainability. This document examines value chain analysis methodologies in Latin America and the Caribbean, identifying their potential to improve water management at different scales. The importance of combining these methodologies with other tools to obtain a comprehensive and systemic vision is highlighted. However, the need for coordination between the sectors involved and a solid institutional system for its effective implementation is highlighted.
