Advances and challenges in livestock farming in Latin America and the Caribbean - Appropriate mitigation measures for each country

The purpose of this report is to present a comprehensive overview of the progress made in the development and implementation of specific mitigation measures for livestock in Latin America and the Caribbean until 2022. In addition, it seeks to identify the fundamental needs and requirements of the countries in relation to greenhouse gas mitigation. To meet these objectives, descriptive information has been collected through primary and secondary sources. In the first case, contact was established with representatives of institutions that participated in the formulation of mitigation measures adapted to each country in the region. In the second case, information was collected from scientific articles, documents and publications issued by government agencies and representatives of initiatives related to mitigation in each country.
