Description

SENASA, through OIRSA, will manage $4.95 million dollars, the remaining amount will be managed through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). With these resources, SENASA will execute an Intensive Immediate Action Program, over a two-year period, which includes more technical personnel in the field and at control and surveillance posts, acquisition of equipment, kits for capturing worms, medicines, among others. About 50% of the donated resources will be used to cover the cost of flights to disperse sterile male flies, which is the main technique used to eradicate the worm.
