Description
This article investigates the implementation of Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) in agricultural systems, focusing on tropical rangelands, with the aim of balancing multiple services with sustainable food production. Through interviews with 101 cattle farmers in Costa Rica, the study evaluates the adoption of silvopastoral conservation practices following the Regional Integrated Silvopastoral Approaches to Ecosystem Management Project (RISEMP) PES pilot (2002–2008). It assesses the influence of PES, technical assistance, and information sharing on stimulating the adoption of these practices.
