Food security and agrifood trade in Latin America and the Caribbean

The report highlights that Latin America and the Caribbean is a leader in the production and trade of agrifood products, being the main net exporter. Despite having natural resources and capacity for sustainable production, in 2021, 40.6% of the population was food insecure, exceeding the world average. The study focuses on analyzing the impact of intraregional food trade on food security, seeking opportunities to expand trade in nutritious foods in the region.
