The Special Report on Climate Change and Land responds to the 2016 decision of the Intergovernmental Panel on three special reports during its sixth assessment cycle. It examines greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems, land use, sustainable land management and their relationship to climate change adaptation and mitigation, desertification, land degradation and food security. This report follows other recent reports, providing an updated assessment consistent with and complementary to previous reports on similar topics.
