Carbon neutral and net-zero commitments in Latin America and the Caribbean

This publication analyzes the situation of companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in terms of environmental commitments linked to carbon neutrality and some progress made in the implementation of measures to achieve climate commitments. The Paris Agreement establishes measures for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions -scope 1, 2 and 3 - which include climate commitments for carbon neutrality and net-zero. This publication describes the main organizations and structures that support the global agenda of science-aligned commitments, considering campaigns, coalitions, and methodological and standards organizations. It also incorporates some success stories of net-zero commitments in LAC and identifies challenges and recommendations for companies in this region in terms of climate commitments.
