Avanzar2030, a project funded by USAID, was launched on August 11, 2023. The initiative brings together experts from IFPRI, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, the University of Notre Dame, and more than half a dozen other organizations to synthesize evidence on innovations in food systems. Avanzar2030 is based on the need to generate evidence on effective strategies for building more nutritious, productive, inclusive, and sustainable food systems. It also relies on the need for a robust estimation of the costs of implementing change so that decision-makers can achieve these objectives at a minimum cost through the optimal allocation of financial resources among the policy instruments portfolio identified by the evidence.
