The protection of the rights of rural women in Latin America

The report briefly describes the situation of rural women in the region and presents the international legal framework related to the recognition of their rights. The second part outlines progress in the protection of these rights in the 11 countries studied. It begins with an analysis of the specific laws and plans adopted to protect and promote the rights of rural women. Next, it presents the existing legislation and policies designed to protect and enforce their rights to resources, productive services, and participation. Finally, it addresses the programs created in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
