Description

In the context of the signing of the Framework Agreement of the Pacific Alliance (PA), which enshrines the objectives of this mechanism as well as its institutional basis, a set of trade issues was negotiated in a first stage, which are included in the Additional Protocol to said Agreement. The Additional Protocol to the Framework Agreement of the Pacific Alliance, whose entry into force was registered on May 1, 2016, represents the PA trade agreement that coexists with the rights and obligations acquired under previous multilateral and bilateral agreements. The Protocol complements, improves, updates and deepens what is contained in the trade agreements that the four countries of the Pacific Alliance maintain between them. Moreover, it harmonizes its provisions and establishes common standards, particularly in business disciplines.
