The construction of Costa Rica's National Circular Economy Strategy (ENEC) followed a participatory process led by the Intersectoral Committee for the Circular Economy (CIEC), in which strategic representatives from all sectors of Costa Rican society were convened. The aim was to include the various perspectives on the most appropriate route for the country to begin adopting an inclusive circular economy, as well as to identify the main gaps and challenges facing this transition and to collectively prioritize the main production chains to intervene and the key opportunities for the sustainable development of the territories, according to their circularity potential.
