Ecuador issues a yellow alert due to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon

Description
Through Resolution No. SGR-156-2023, Ecuador declares a state of yellow alert in various localities situated at an altitude lower than 1,500 meters above sea level, in response to the possible occurrence of the El Niño - Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon in the country. The declaration is focused on 489 parishes, belonging to 143 cantons in 17 provinces of the country, where a significant activation of the threat is anticipated, starting from the second half of the current year.
