National Coffee Plant Renewal Program in Colombia.

The National Coffee Plant Renewal Program will include a Rural Capitalization Incentive (RCI) to strengthen the national coffee production. This economic benefit was designed to provide small-scale producers with the necessary inputs and make them more competitive in the market. For the implementation of this program, the Ministry of Agriculture will allocate resources amounting to 35,000 million pesos so that coffee growers can carry out production, transformation, marketing, and support services processes such as irrigation and drainage, soil improvement, infrastructure, machinery and equipment, and the planting of perennial crops, including transplanting the canopy. It is estimated that this investment will benefit around 17,500 small coffee producers in the country for the renewal of 7,800 hectares of crops. Under this scenario, it is expected that in the next three years, the production yield per hectare will increase from five to twelve loads. With this economic benefit, low-income small producers will receive an incentive of up to 40% of the value of their investment, while small producers will receive a 30% incentive.
