Description

To conduct a rapid assessment of the soil health issues related to cocoa and associated crops in Jamaica and design appropriate solutions to the main issues identified relating to soil health in these production systems. Composting is a biological process that can transform degradable organic waste into stable matter as a natural fertilizer that provides nutrients for other crops. Considering this, the health problems present in the soil of cocoa crops in Jamaica, require solutions that can meet this problem; therefore, this action seeks to perform a rapid analysis exercise that allows the integration of composting technology as a tool to provide nutrients to these crops and thus, create a healthier production system.
