Description

The subprogram focuses its efforts on promoting the improvement of fisheries and aquaculture management, implementing programs for strengthening, training, and technical assistance in sanitary, phytosanitary, and food safety regulations, as well as phytogenetic regulations. It is aimed at producers, importers, and exporters of organic products. Within this subprogram, the following activities are carried out: 1) Regulation of Agricultural and Livestock Production Heritage: This activity is responsible for preventing, controlling, and eradicating pests of quarantine and economic importance for plants. It establishes phytosanitary regulations, plans, programs, campaigns, and phytosanitary extension services. 2) Promotion of Fisheries and Aquaculture: This activity aims to promote the sustainable and responsible use of fisheries and aquaculture resources without compromising ecosystems. It also involves modernizing fisheries management through the updating of the legal framework and the establishment of clear, simple, and efficient procedures.
