Hectares of Ecosystems Conserved to Ensure Sustainable Provision of Ecosystem Services

The project is part of Budget Program 0144 Conservation and sustainable use of ecosystems for the provision of ecosystem services. This program addresses the problems associated with the increasing degradation of areas with ecosystem service providers. It seeks to reach about 87,429,081.12 hectares of natural ecosystems (lakes, lagoons and coastal marine areas), including agroecosystems. It is expected that the program can achieve the conservation of areas with ecosystem service providers. The activities of this program include: 1. Implementation of land use planning processes. 2. Preparation of specialized studies for ecosystem conservation. 3. 3. Development, dissemination and training in technical and financial mechanisms and instruments. 4. 4. Implementation of technical and financial mechanisms and instruments. 5. 5. Implementation of sustainable practices for conservation and reduction of pressure on the forests. 6. Monitoring and supervision of the conservation of ecosystems for sustainable use. The project is managed and executed by the Ministry of Environment, the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute, the National Institute for Research on Glaciers and Mountain Ecosystems, and the Peruvian Geophysical Institute.
