Recovered forest areas with adequate forest and wildlife management.

The project is part of Budget Program 0130 Competitiveness and Sustainable Use of Forest and Wildlife Resources. The budget program identified the central problem as "Insufficient sustainability and competitiveness in the management of forest and wildlife resources", with the aim of achieving as a general effect the "competitiveness and sustainable use of forest and wildlife resources", which among other aspects aims to vindicate the strengths of the forestry sector, for which it plans to improve the levels of inter-sectoral and multilevel governance with the different agents linked to forestry and wildlife activities. To this end, the project places special emphasis on territorial articulation with regional governments, as well as entities linked to forestry and wildlife management. The aim is to generate synergies and create favorable conditions for forest users, increase the contribution of the forestry and wildlife sector to the economy and generate positive impacts on the fulfillment of public policies. The project's target population includes: Forest concession holders for timber and other forest products; reforestation, conservation and ecotourism concessions; communities, native communities or peasant organizations; agricultural producers with forestry permits and authorizations, orchid, bromeliad and cactus producers, among others; medicinal plant producers; zoos, rescue centers and temporary custody centers; wildlife management areas; wild camelid management concession holders. The project is expected to boost the competitiveness and sustainable use of forest and wildlife resources. The activities of this program include: 1. Restoration of degraded or altered forest areas; 2. Raising public awareness of the proper use of forest lands, natural forests, forest ecosystems, and good wildlife management; 3. Implementation of a national system for the production, management and conservation of quality reproductive material; 5. Promotion and training in the establishment of agroforestry nurseries for the production of quality seedlings; 6. Development of agroforestry nurseries for the production of quality seedlings; 7. Prevention, control and monitoring of activities that threaten forest and wildlife resources; 8. Monitoring and follow-up of forestry activities and environmental commitments; 9. Promotion of the proper use of forest lands, natural forests, forest ecosystems, and good wildlife management; 12. Promotion of environmental management mechanisms for the use of forest resources; 13. Promotion of alternative agroforestry crop management in deforested and degraded areas with environmental certification; 14. The project is managed and executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Institute for Agrarian Innovation, the National Forestry and Wildlife Service and the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute.
