Start Date: 31/12/2013
End Date: 31/12/2023

Description

The project is part of Budget Program 0130 for Competitiveness and Sustainable Use of Forest and Wildlife Resources. The budget program identified the central problem as "Insufficient sustainability and competitiveness in the management of forest and wildlife resources," aiming to achieve the overall effect of "competitiveness and sustainable use of forest and wildlife resources." Among other aspects, the goal is to reclaim the strengths of the forestry sector, for which it plans to improve intersectoral and multilevel governance levels with different stakeholders involved in forestry and wildlife activities. To achieve this, the project emphasizes territorial coordination with regional governments as well as entities involved in forest and wildlife management. This is to create synergies and favorable conditions for forest users, promote increased contributions from the forestry and wildlife sectors to the economy, and generate positive impacts on the implementation of public policies. The project's target population includes: Timber forest concessionaires and other forest products. Reforestation, conservation, and ecotourism concessions. Communities, indigenous communities, or peasant organizations. Agricultural producers with forest permits and authorizations, producers of orchids, bromeliads, cacti, among others. Producers of medicinal plants. Zoos, wildlife breeding centers, rescue centers, and temporary custody centers. Wildlife management areas. Holders of permits for wild camelid management. The project aims to boost the competitiveness and sustainable use of forest and wildlife resources. The activities of this program include: 1. Research studies on forest and wildlife resources and systematization of forest research information. 2. Generation, management, and dissemination of forest and wildlife information or promotion and development of research studies on forest and wildlife resources. 3. Coordination of the national forest and wildlife information system. The project is managed and executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Institute of Agricultural Innovation, the National Forest and Wildlife Service, and the Institute of Amazonian Research in Peru..
