Artisanal fishing agents gain access to financing and capacity-building services

Description
The project is part of Budget Plan 0095 for Strengthening Artisanal Fishing. This budget line addresses the problems associated with low productivity of artisanal fishermen. In order to address this problem, it is intended to assist both on-board and off-board artisanal fishermen in the maritime and inland areas, as well as artisanal shipowners. The actions of this budget plan are aimed at increasing the productivity of artisanal fishermen.The activities included in this project are as follows: 1. Strengthening and implementation of tools to improve the agents' access to direct commercialization practices. 2. Financial support for artisanal fisheries. 3. Training and technical assistance for artisanal fishermen. 4. Promotion of the formalization of artisanal fishing agents for access to credit programs. The project is executed by PRODUCE, Ministry of Production and FONDEPES, National Fund for Fishing Development.
