Renewable Energy Project for Sustainable Rural Development (PRONADERS Honduras)

Start Date: 01/01/2021
End Date: 01/01/2021

Description

The project aims to contribute to improving the living conditions of families in the departments of Intibucá, Lempira, La Paz, and Santa Bárbara by installing complete systems and compact models for the collection and distribution of renewable energy. This will reduce environmental risks through access to clean solar energy, providing lighting and other services to the beneficiary households. In its Initial Stage, it provided electricity to 21,036 households, 416 schools, and 34 health centers, totaling 21,486 Photovoltaic Systems installations. This benefited 21,036 families in the western part of the country. These PV systems generate electricity directly from sunlight, thus meeting the basic needs of communities in rural areas that still lack access to this service.
