Plant Seed Production Program (DICTA Honduras)

The Vegetable Seed Production Program is responsible for producing a diversity of certified seed for staple grains and fruit crops to benefit agricultural producers nationwide, particularly small-scale farmers. This includes the production of seed for staple grains (beans, corn, sorghum, rice), fruit tree seeds, as well as strawberry and potato runners cultivated in various experimental stations across the country. The program's lines of work are as follows: Production of basic and registered seed. Production of certified seed. Production of plants. Germplasm maintenance. Seed processing and storage. Seed commercialization and distribution. Training in seed production. Seed quality laboratories. Development of productive infrastructure.
