Agricultural producers adopt appropriate technological packages

Description

The project is part of Budget Program 0121 to improve the linkage of small farmers to the market. This program addresses the limited market access of small farmers. The target population consists of agricultural producers on the coast with less than 20 hectares under irrigation or 50 hectares of rainfed land; in the highlands with less than 20 ha under irrigation or 50 ha of rainfed land; in the high jungle with less than 50 ha in total; and in the low jungle with less than 115 ha in total, and who use most of their production (more than 50%) for commercialization in the internal or external market. The project is expected to improve market access for small farmers. The activities of this program include: Regulation of seed production, certification and marketing activities. 2. Training producers in the importance and application of technological packages to improve the productivity and quality of their agricultural production. 3. Training producers in the production and use of high quality genetic material. 4. Determination of the technological demand of organized agricultural producers to improve the productivity and quality of the prioritized crops and livestock. 5. Development and adaptation of equipment and machinery appropriate to the socioeconomic conditions of the agricultural producers that will allow them to improve the productivity and quality of the prioritized crops and livestock. 6. Design of appropriate technological packages for organized agricultural producers that allow them to improve the productivity and quality of the prioritized crops and livestock. 7. Development and adaptation of varieties and breeds with attributes of high productivity and quality appropriate to the agro-ecological conditions of the prioritized zones and the socio-economic conditions of small producers. 8. Development and adaptation of appropriate integrated management technologies to improve the productivity and quality of the prioritized crops and livestock. 9. Certification in organic GAP-BPP quality management systems. 10. Determination of the technological demand of agricultural producers. 11. Development of agricultural technology packages. 12. Technical assistance and training to producers for the adoption of technological packages. 13. Production and use of high quality genetic material. 14. Technical assistance and training for producers in quality management system. The project is managed and executed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, the National Institute for Agrarian Innovation and Sierra y Selva Exportadora in the national government and regional and local governments also participate in the execution.
