Support to the Implementation of the National Plan for Irrigation and Drainage

Non-reimbursable technical cooperation project to develop specific studies of Ecuador's National Plan for Irrigation and Drainage 2019-2027, in order to increase the productivity of small and medium-sized farmers, reduce poverty and inequality in access to irrigation water, and promote the sustainable use of water resources as a climate change adaptation mechanism. It includes assessing irrigation infrastructure and its investment requirements, prioritizing agricultural drainage projects, adjusting water user management models, analyzing irrigation water quality, and strengthening institutional capacities and coordination in the sector.
