Payments for restoration of sustainable fuels markets affected by the pandemic

Description

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack has announced that the Department has provided $700 million to help reduce costs and support biofuels producers who faced unexpected market losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds are made available through the Biofuels Producers Program, which was created as part of the Coronavirus Assistance, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). Investments include more than $486 million for 62 producers located in socially vulnerable communities, as well as 195 biofuel production facilities.
