Developing Productive Technical Capacities for the Management of Irrigated Rice Crops in Tocache

Fecha de inicio: 06/09/2011
Fecha de fin: 31/12/2022

Description

The low crop yields are due to the lack of knowledge of the producer, reflected in the poor technological level (use of poor quality seed, inadequate use of fertilizers and inadequate cultural practices), in addition to the limited access to local agricultural services, which is due to the low level of organization of producers, who are not sufficiently strengthened and trained to manage support from public and private entities to provide technical assistance and training in the agronomic management of the crop. All this leads to low production and low income, which in turn generates a low level of participation in the market and a reduction in the areas planted, resulting in the socioeconomic backwardness of rice producers in the area. The project seeks to improve irrigated rice yields in the valleys of Sarita Colonia, Nuevo Horizonte, Bajo Porongo, Chontayacu and Alto Limón in the Province of Tocache-San Martín.
