Description
Public investment project aimed at reducing dry-season water scarcity in the Jachojo, Quishuarani, Sauso and Parhuayso lacustrine micro-watersheds in Cusco. The selected alternative combines the damming of four lakes to store 511,374 m3 of water per year, native-species afforestation and reforestation on 216 ha, soil conservation through infiltration trenches on 101 ha and three gully-control dikes, strengthening organizations and knowledge for 355 families, and institutional capacity building for water-resources research and monitoring.
