Budget Program 0042: Use of Water Resources for Agriculture

Budget program that seeks to improve the efficiency of the use of water resources for agriculture, given the inefficient use of water by agricultural producers. It serves agricultural producers and water user organizations in the targeted districts of 15 departments (Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, Puno, Áncash, Apurímac, Cajamarca, Arequipa, La Libertad, Ica, Piura, Lambayeque and Lima). It includes awareness-raising of agricultural producers, capacity building and technical assistance on irrigation practices and on the operation and maintenance of hydraulic infrastructure, training in technified irrigation for officials, professionals and technicians of regional and local governments, generation of information and studies, and informational campaigns; it also concentrates investments in irrigation infrastructure.
