Water sowing and harvesting projects in Amazonas, Ayacucho, Cusco and Lima (2026)

Description

Set of interventions led by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation and implemented by the Sierra Azul Executing Unit during the first half of 2026 in high-Andean areas of Amazonas, Ayacucho, Cusco and Lima. Activities include 18 dams for qochas, infiltration ditches, afforestation, grassland revegetation, water-harvesting reservoirs and wetland restoration. Expected results include 313331 cubic metres of water recharge, direct benefits for 397 rural families and 40473 temporary workdays.

Observations

The publication reports regional investments of more than PEN 3.38 million in Amazonas, PEN 4.09 million in Ayacucho, more than PEN 6.9 million in Cusco and more than PEN 4.09 million in Lima. PEN 18,460,000 is recorded only as a reference minimum; the actual cost is higher. Conversion: 18,460,000 / 3.3605 = USD 5,493,230.17. Exchange rate: 3.3605 soles per USD, interbank average reported by the BCRP for 2026-02-03. Dates and budget must be replaced if exact administrative records are available.
