Description

Territorial climate services program that develops technical and scientific products tailored to the hazards and needs of each territory to support decision-making in the face of drought and other natural hazards. It is implemented in three stages (diagnosis, laboratory, and analysis and results) through workshops with stakeholders from the agricultural, livestock, academic, private and public sectors, and makes geophysical, meteorological and hydrological information available. It starts in the department of Jutiapa, where municipalities are on orange and red alert due to El Nino-related drought, and is expected to expand gradually to the rest of the country to strengthen adaptation to the climate conditions projected for 2027.
