AIM for Climate was officially launched on 2 November 2021 during COP26 as a joint initiative of the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Its stated period was 2021-2025. The initiative brought together an international coalition of governments and non-government partners seeking to increase investment in climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation. By November 2024 the network reported more than 800 partners, including 56 countries, and USD 29.2 billion in increased investment over a 2020 baseline. This amount represents aggregate investment commitments or investment mobilized by partners and Innovation Sprints and is NOT a budget directly administered by AIM for Climate. AIM for Climate expressly states that it does not provide funding for Innovation Sprints. Therefore budget_usd, counterpart_budget_usd and total_budget remain NULL.
