End Date: N/A

Description

The measure provides up to R$500 million for purchases intended to mitigate impacts associated with the El Niño phenomenon. The maximum purchase price will be 125 percent of the applicable minimum price. Rural producers and producer cooperatives may participate.

Observations

The budget is a maximum authorized ceiling and not executed expenditure. Original amount: BRL 500,000,000. Conversion uses the Central Bank of Brazil PTAX selling rate for September 4, 2026: 5.1253 BRL per USD. Calculation: BRL 500,000,000 / 5.1253 = USD 97,555,265.06. The source contains conflicting ordinance dates: the summary states September 1, 2026, while the body states September 2, 2026. The unambiguous announcement publication date, September 4, 2026, is used as the initiative start date.
