Description

The Government of Costa Rica, through an investment of CRC 325.9 million implemented by the Rural Development Institute (INDER) in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), strengthened infrastructure and equipment for bean processing in Santa Cecilia, La Cruz, Guanacaste. The investment directly benefits 276 producer families associated with Las Brumas Dos Small Farmers Association, CEPROMA Valle del Orosí and ASOLCRUZ. The projects provided equipment for bean cleaning, grading and processing to increase operational capacity, improve product quality and facilitate better marketing conditions. The intervention is part of the strategy to support national bean production and seeks to improve productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen producer organizations, increase competitiveness, generate employment and contribute to food security.
