Decision Support System for Adaptation to Hydroclimatic Risks in Small- and Medium-Scale Agriculture

Start Date: 01/10/2024
End Date: 2026

Description

Research and technological development initiative aimed at creating a digital tool for the integrated analysis of hydroclimatic risks and the assessment of climate change adaptation options for small- and medium-scale agriculture in Chile’s Aconcagua River Basin. The platform seeks to identify and visualize areas facing the highest risks from droughts, intense rainfall, wildfires and frost by considering the interaction between climate hazards, exposure and vulnerability. The project also develops a participatory decision-support model to prioritize, monitor and assess adaptation measures, incorporating the perspectives of farmers, public institutions and other territorial stakeholders.
