Improvement of forest fire prevention and control services for the conservation of natural ecosystems in 7 provinces of the department of Cusco

Public investment project aimed at reducing the risk of degradation of natural ecosystems caused by forest fires in the provinces of Acomayo, Canas, Canchis, Chumbivilcas, Espinar, La Convención and Paruro (Cusco). It includes the provision of personal protective equipment, tools, motor pumps, communication equipment and rapid intervention vehicles for first-response brigades (volunteer firefighters, municipal and community brigades); training and awareness-raising on forest fire prevention and control, including good agricultural practices to avoid burning; strengthening of a regional technical committee on forest fires; and the development of management instruments and regional and provincial regulations for fire prevention, sanctioning and control.
