ENANDES+ (Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of Andean Communities through Climate Services)

Start Date: 01/11/2022
End Date: 31/10/2026

Description

The ENANDES+ project supports six Andean countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru) in their climate adaptation and resilience efforts, expanding the scope of the original ENANDES project implemented by the WMO through the Adaptation Fund. The initiative aims to improve the capacity of communities and productive sectors to adapt to climate variability and change by strengthening hydrometeorological services, early warning systems, and the co-design of local adaptation practices. It includes country-specific components, such as the development of an early warning system for floods in the binational Pilcomayo River basin (Argentina-Bolivia), frost alerts for small-scale family farmers in Ecuador, and the strengthening of technical knowledge in Peru.
