Repositioning the use of clover in ryegrass pastures for sustainable livestock systems in Chile

The FONDEF IDeA 2024-ID24I10323 project, implemented by INIA Carillanca and INIA Remehue, evaluates mixed pastures of hybrid/perennial ryegrass with white and red clover to replace synthetic nitrogen fertilizers. It aims to improve sustainability, adaptation to climate change (high temperatures, water scarcity), and nitrogen cycle efficiency in dairy farming in southern Chile, with support from INDAP and Nestlé.
