Establishment of an Alert System for Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense, the Banana and Plantain Wilt Pathogen, and Mitigation Strategy of the Disease

The project seeks to contain Fusarium wilt in banana and plantain through the development of an alert system based on field-level and molecular diagnosis, the generation of resistant lines through mutagenesis, a system for producing and distributing disease-free seedlings, the study of the microbial communities of disease-suppressive soils, and low-environmental-impact control methods such as biopesticides, together with the training of technicians to advise producers.
