Description

The WANUCHAY bonus is an individual economic support of 350 soles granted by the Peruvian government to male and female family farmers who cultivate less than two hectares of land. Its purpose is to ensure the success of the 2021–2022 agricultural campaign and to strengthen national food security. Established under Emergency Decree No. 108-2021 and extended by Decree No. 019-2022, the measure aims to reduce the negative economic impact on agricultural producers and remained in effect until December 31, 2022.

Observations

The initiative addresses the growing demand for dairy products while tackling the environmental impacts of extensive cattle farming. It focuses on technological innovation, life cycle analysis, and sustainable use of local by-products.
