Description

The program aims to increase the productive potential of cultivated and wild native cacao in Bolivia by improving production, harvesting, and post-harvest processes for the domestic and foreign markets. This program is implemented in the departments of La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Beni, and Pando. It is managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food (MDRyT). Its implementation is handled by its implementing agencies, each component being: 1) Technological Development and Innovation (INIAF); 2) Plant Health (SENASAG); 3) Production and Post-Harvest (EMPODERAR); and 4) Technical Assistance and Market (IPDSA).

Observations

The Program was created by Supreme Decree No. 4008 with a five-year allocation of Bs. 152,960,283 (one hundred fifty-two million nine hundred sixty thousand two hundred eighty-three 00/100 Bolivianos).
