Proyecto MAS Meta (Colombia) (EN)

Fecha de inicio: 01/11/2017
Fecha de fin: 01/11/2019

Description

The MAS Meta project (Sustainable Agribusiness Model) was implemented over two years in the Alto Ariari and Piedemonte Llanero regions of Colombia (concluding in 2019). Its objective was to contribute to economic diversification and the generation of employment and development opportunities through the promotion of the agro-food value chains of cocoa, plantain, passion fruit, and coffee (Universidad de los Andes, n.d.). The project was designed in response to the need to introduce a vision of sustainable agribusiness in the Colombian agricultural sector that would promote access to value-added markets and ensure the continuity of economic diversification (Campus MAS Agro, n.d.). It was an interinstitutional effort that directly benefited 30 associations and 120 producers, representing a total of 1,000 families in 10 municipalities (Villavicencio, Acacías, Guamal, San Luís de Cubarral, El Castillo, El Dorado, Castilla la Nueva, Granada, Fuente de Oro, and Lejanías). The project was funded by Ecopetrol and implemented by Agrosavia, Universidad de los Andes, and the local partner, Corporación Corocora (UPRA, 2018).
