Programa Nacional de Alimentación Escolar Honduras – Proyecto Ración Fresca (EN)

Legislative Decree No. 125-2016 approved the School Feeding Law, establishing the legal framework for the National School Feeding Program (PNAE). The program provides a daily ration of nutritionally balanced food and supports local economies by purchasing fresh products from small-scale producers. As of April 2023, 1,329,000 preschool and primary school children in 22,000 public education centers had benefited from the program (Honduras Ministry of Education, n.d.).
