Description
The initiative “Family Farming and School Feeding” aims to strengthen school feeding programs by promoting the purchase of food from family farmers. Led by FAO and supported by IFAD and the Brazilian government, it operates in 13 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The program promotes public procurement mechanisms, capacity building, and the integration of family farming products into school menus. It enhances food security, local economies, and sustainable food systems.
